COVID-19 RESPONSE

TAC §553.45 requires assisted living facilities to screen all individuals prior to entering the facility, including staff at the start of their shift, visitors, new residents and residents returning to the facility for symptoms of COVID-19 such as:

● fever or chills;

● cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing;

● sore throat, fatigue, muscle or body aches;

● headache, new loss of taste or smell;

● congestion or runny nose;

● nausea or vomiting;

● and diarrhea.

 

Prohibit any visitor who has symptoms of COVID-19 from entering the facility.

 

Isolate a resident who has symptoms of COVID-19, implement recommended precautions and provide care for the resident or transfer the resident to a facility capable of providing care.

 

Have an employee who has symptoms of COVID-19 put on a facemask, leave the facility and isolate at home until they are cleared to return to work.

 

Require face masks are to be worn by all visitors and service vendors.
